Three types of Gobi raisin agates that I particularly like

This type of agate is generally formed by volcanic activity, and the siliceous solution fills the gaps in basalt in the geological age of millions of years.

The first type is the wool ball agate from the Gobi Desert of Naomao Lake in Yiwu County, Hami, Xinjiang. It is generally Morandi color, and there are also violet colors, which are different from the violet veins in Inner Mongolia. The violet wool ball agate from Naomao Lake is softer in color and more rounded in shape.

The second type is the Black Mountain agate from Bachu County, Kashgar, Xinjiang. That area is all black mountain tops with basalt structures. In the early years, the fish roe agate and vein agate produced from the surface materials were red and enchanting. It is my personal favorite variety of Gobi agate.

The third type is the famous violet raisin agate produced near the 331 National Road on the Sino-Mongolian border in Chaogewenduer, Urad Rear Banner, Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia. It is very bright and rich purple with vein agate patterns. Now there are fewer and fewer good violets. Most of the buried materials need to be maintained by applying oil after mining, and the alkali will turn white.
